Millennium Partners: That Sinking Feeling

Here is new, damning video on the current “fix” developer Millennium Partners are in with their San Francisco leaning and sinking tower.

Experts say Millennium’s method to attempt to halt their sinking fortunes was dangerous and crazy.

Pyke’s main concern: the so-called “perimeter pile upgrade” calls for connecting only the sinking north and west side of the building to bedrock, leaving the south and east side unconnected. “It’s asymmetrical. And an asymmetric foundation under earthquake loading is inherently a very bad thing,” said Pyke.

So he submitted a letter of concern to the Engineering Design Review Team (EDRT) overseeing the project and to the city, with the headline: “The proposed Millennium Tower fix is a farce.”

We ask Mayor Garcetti, Councilman Mitch O’Farrell, and LA’s Building & Safety and Planning Departments:

Why are you accepting the same type of lies about building safety in Hollywood, from the same reckless developer, over the impartial expert studies of the California Geological Survey and U.S. Geological Survey?
